36 Days Of Type

36 Days, 36 Styles

Brief

The challenge was to create
36 unique styles for each individual letter and number within 36 days

Approach

I used this as an opportunity to explore different design
styles and techniques

Outcome

Have a full typeset that
demonstrates each style

Brief

I took part in a challenge that involved creating one letterform each day for 36 days. I used this opportunity to research various design styles in order to create a unique look for each letterform.
My goal was for each piece to stand out individually, rather than
form a cohesive set.

Approach

I started each piece with a hand-drawn sketch, highlighting areas for stylistic development. I then refined the design in Illustrator using a grid system for structure and balance. Finally, I explored colour options to enhance the form and create a distinctive final outcome.

Outcome

The final outcome is a vibrant collection of letterforms and numbers, each with its own distinct personality. By experimenting with colour, structure, and style, I created 36 unique designs that showcase versatility in typographic expression. Rather than forming a uniform typeface, each piece stands alone, highlighting creative freedom, technical skill, and a playful approach to design.
